The Great Garden Relocation of 2011

If you have a plot in columns 1-4 (i.e. your plot ID starts with the numbers 1, 2, 3, or 4) this is a very important announcement for you.

You may have noticed the newly tilled-in area along the East end of the garden.  Next spring (2011), we will need to retire columns 1-4 of the current garden array and relocate these plots into the newly tilled area (which will be cover-cropped this season to help build soil).  Under mandate from David Riley, director of the Center for Sustainability, this shift is to accommodate construction plans for the MorningStar solar home.  So, if you currently have a plot in columns 1-4, and you plan on renewing your membership in the garden for 2011, keep in mind that you will need to be reassigned to a plot in the new area next spring.  This shift should not affect your gardening for the 2010 season in any way at all; it simply means that you will not be able to keep a plot in columns 1-4 next year.
